Overview
When door and window openings face sun, wind, and frequent contact, tempered glass helps keep assemblies durable while supporting comfortable interiors. Thermal tempering heats glass and rapidly cools it to create surface compression, making it at least about four times stronger than annealed glass of the same thickness. If breakage occurs, it typically dices into small particles, reducing the likelihood of serious cuts in high-traffic areas.
